Association for Retired Persons - AARP is the nation's leading
organization for people age 50 and older. It serves their needs and interests
through information and education, advocacy, and community services which are
provided by a network of local chapters and experienced volunteers throughout
the country. The organization also offers members a wide range of special
benefits and services, including Modern Maturity magazine and the monthly
Bulletin.
American Association of Homes
and Services for the Aging - The American Association of Homes and
Services for the Aging (AAHSA) is the national association of not-for-profit
organizations dedicated to providing quality housing, health, community, and
related services to older people. AAHSA's mission is to represent and promote
the common interests of its members through leadership, advocacy, education, and
other services.
American Cancer
Society - The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a national
community-based volunteer health organization whose mission is to eliminate
cancer as a major health problem by promoting its prevention. ACS seeks to
diminish patients' suffering through research, education, advocacy, and patient
services. ACS supports medical and scientific research in all aspects of cancer.
It provides education to inform the public about various forms of the disease,
as well as issues of early detection, risk reduction, and prevention. It also
educates medical professionals on state-of-the-art techniques for cancer
prevention, detection, and management. Finally, ACS collects statistical and
epidemiologic information on cancer, disseminating it to a variety of special
interest groups.
American Diabetes
Association - The mission of the American Diabetes Association (ADA)
is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected
by diabetes.
American Heart Association
- The American Heart Association (AHA) is a volunteer health organization that
funds research and sponsors public education programs to reduce disability and
death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Benefits Check-up
Program -
The BenefitsCheckUp is the nation's first
50-state (including the District of Columbia) online service to provide public
benefit screening. BenefitsCheckUp
was developed to address a concerning problem: millions of older adults are
eligible for benefits, but not receiving them. Ranging from health coverage to
supplemental income to help in paying utility bills, there are millions of older
adults who could benefit from a wide array of public programs if they knew about
them and how to apply for them.
Black Elderly Legal
Assistance Support Project - This project stimulates the involvement
of local chapters of the National Bar Association to establish and expand
African American and other minority community care coalitions at four sites
around the Nation. Outcomes are targeted to the legal assistance needs of
African American and other minority elderly.

partnership of the Administration on Aging, the National Association of Area
